"The Wave" af Todd Strasser (aka. Morton Rhue) fra 1981 er en bog, der er baseret på en lærers psykologiske eksperiment(1967) for at demonstrere, hvordan et samfund under et diktaturstyre er. I opgaven besvarer eleven en række spørgsmål om bogen.

1. What happens when loyalty is unquestioned?
When loyalty is unquestioned people lose their independence and choice and then they are not taking any responsibility for their actions.

A “fascist mentality” is when everybody is equal, when there is a rejection of individualism, and when everybody just follows a leader without questioning so the leader can do whatever he wants to. It is also when there are strength through discipline, community and action.
