Lærers kommentar

Rigtig god opgave. Nogle få spørgsmål kunne godt være blevet uddybet en smule.

Indhold

1. Try to describe the different groupings you know about among young people in your school and neighbourhood. What are the different interests that keep them together?
2. Do you understand Oliver's dream about being the Most Popular Guy?
3. Try to describe what makes a person popular: looks/clothes/money/intelligence/a sense of humour/being good at sports/being a friend you can trust/...? Add whatever you think is missing, and make a list of the four most important qualities.
4. How do you feel about the way Oliver ‘buys' Jennifer?
5. Would you have accepted if you were in Jennifer's situation?
6. How do you feel about the way Jennifer fixes Oliver's clothes?
7. Have you got a group like the football players at your school? Are there ‘special territories', for instance in the playground?
8. How would you feel about Oliver at his point, if you belonged to his ‘old crowd'?
9. Describe the Saturday Oliver and Jennifer spent together. Would you call this ‘romantic'? (What is ‘romantic', anyhow? Give the details of a perfectly romantic situation.)
10. Why do Oliver and Jennifer misunderstand each other?
11. “... with sunglasses and everything.” What are your comments?
12. How do you feel about Jennifer's behaviour on New Year's Eve?
13. How do you feel about the way all the kids are treating Oliver afterwards?
14. Do you understand the fat girl's behaviour?
15. Comment on the footballer's behaviour towards Jerry?
16. What does the writer mean by “... the two boys mature behaviour”?
17. This story was written by a sixteen-year-old boy. Are there any details in it you would like to criticize or change?

Uddrag

2. Do you understand Oliver's dream about being the Most Popular Guy?
I think all teenagers are fighting to find their identity, and of course everybody would like to be accepted and liked by other people and especially people of their own age. So I think Oliver's dream is every teenagers dream... Køb adgang for at læse mere
