Give a brief summary of the book:
We're following the black slave, Tom. He was married to the head cook, Chloe. They worked for the Shelby's. Their son, Mas'r George, taught Uncle Tom to write, they had a great relationship. Tom and Chloe are having three children together. They are good Christians and are doing a brilliant job, for the Shelby's! The Shelby's are very pleased with them. Unfortunately, they run out of money and are having a lot of debt, so they have to sell some slaves. The slave trader, Haley, wants to have Tom, instead of the money, because then he's going to sell him on the slave market.

I think it's OK, the subject is good. It's very sad, but it helps to understand how black slaves were treated, back then!
